THE SMALL PRINT

Privacy Policy.

Last updated:

Some things stay in your browser. Other things, like game progress, saved drafts, and shareable results, live on our servers. Here’s what is saved and what becomes visible when you share.

1. About this policy

This policy describes how indies.lol handles information when you use its games, quizzes, calculators, and cards. The creator can be reached at @anishghosh103 on X for privacy questions and requests. Your use of the site is also covered by our Terms of Service.

2. Activity inputs and saved progress

Many activities save progress in our database so you can return to a game or draft. This can include puzzle guesses, moves, scores, completion times, quiz answers, Bingo boards and ticks, domain counts and costs, and the financial assumptions you enter into the Quit Your Job Calculator.

For these activities, we derive a keyed, one-way identifier from your IP address to find saved progress. The progress records store that identifier rather than the raw IP address. This is pseudonymous information, not a guarantee of anonymity. Visitors using the same network address may see the same progress; changing networks may load different progress. Avoid entering confidential information.

We use this data to run activities, restore progress, calculate results, and validate submissions. Normal use can save progress automatically, even if you never create a share link.

3. Optional X sign-in

When you sign in with X, we receive profile information such as your account identifier, display name, username, and profile photo. We use it to maintain your session, associate saved Founder Card drafts with your account, and identify submissions you choose to post.

The site uses an authentication session cookie and temporary cookies needed for sign-in and security. We do not receive your X password. Signing out ends your site session; it does not delete existing drafts, shared results, or leaderboard and wall entries. You can also revoke the connection in your X account settings.

4. Founder Card drafts and photos

Guests can edit and download a Founder Card in the browser without saving an account draft. If you sign in and save, the draft fields and cropped photo are sent to our server and stored for your account. Saved photos are accessed through the signed-in draft rather than a public photo link.

Resetting a saved draft restores its defaults and removes photos that are no longer referenced by that draft. A photo or card that you download or publish elsewhere is outside this private draft storage.

5. Share links, leaderboards, and the wall

Shareable results are stored separately from ongoing progress so a shared result can stay the same when you continue playing. Daily games also save completed results to support sharing and score verification. Anyone with a result link can view it and its card image. Treat these links as public, even if you have only sent them to one person.

Shared results can contain answers, scores, board layouts, calculator inputs, and calculated outputs. In particular, sharing a calculator result may disclose the amounts you entered.

If you choose to post to a daily leaderboard or pin a board to the Bingo Wall, we store your account identifier, display name, username, profile-photo reference, result reference, and relevant score or posting details. Leaderboards display submitted profiles and results; the Bingo Wall is visible to signed-in visitors. Signing in alone does not post a result.

To request removal, contact @anishghosh103 on X with the result link or the account and activity concerned. Downloads, screenshots, search-engine caches, and copies on other platforms may remain outside our control.

6. Cookies and browser storage

Alongside the authentication cookies described above, some features use browser storage. Startup Tarot keeps your latest reading in local storage. Temporary session storage can carry a draft or a result through sign-in when you ask to save or post it.

You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings. This removes local readings and temporary data and may sign you out. It does not delete server-side progress, account drafts, or shared results. Blocking authentication cookies can prevent sign-in features from working.

The current application does not include advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts, or session-recording tools.

7. Infrastructure and other services

Our hosting, database, and content-delivery infrastructure process the information needed to deliver and secure the site. Cloudflare helps deliver the site and artwork. Network requests necessarily include technical information such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and request time; infrastructure providers may keep operational and security logs.

X processes sign-in requests under its own privacy policy. Loading external images or following product links may send technical request information to those providers. Currency rates are fetched by our server; the rate request does not require sending your calculator inputs to the exchange-rate provider.

We do not sell personal information or use activity inputs for targeted advertising. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to address security, fraud, or rights complaints. Providers may process data in countries other than your own.

8. How long information stays

Saved progress, account drafts, hosted results, and posted entries currently have no automatic expiry. They can remain until removed, replaced where the feature allows it, or the feature is discontinued. Updating private progress does not remove an older shared snapshot, and signing out or clearing browser data does not erase database records.

Local storage remains until it is replaced or cleared. Session storage is normally cleared when the tab’s session ends. Authentication cookies expire according to the session settings or are cleared on sign-out. Infrastructure logs follow the relevant provider’s retention settings.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You can use many activities without X sign-in, avoid posting results, clear browser storage, and reset drafts where a reset control is available. These actions have the limits described above.

Depending on the law where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to its processing, and complain to a data-protection authority. Where applicable, we process information to provide the features you request, maintain and secure the Service, and meet legal obligations. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent.

Send requests to @anishghosh103 on X. Include the relevant share link or account and activity so we can locate the records, without posting private inputs publicly. We may need to verify ownership. Some unsigned-in records may be difficult to identify because they are keyed to a network identifier rather than a registered account.

10. Security

We use access checks for account drafts and separate private progress from shared results. No online storage or transmission is completely secure. Be careful when sharing results, using a shared network, or entering information you would not want others to see.

11. Children

indies.lol is intended for a general adult founder audience and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact @anishghosh103 on X so we can investigate and address it.

12. Updates and contact

We will update this page as features or data practices change and revise the date above. For privacy questions or requests, contact the creator at @anishghosh103 on X. Please share sensitive details only through a private channel.
